Resort Living Starting Guide

Resort Living Starting Guide I tell clients all the time that we are not a good fit for most projects, but we are a perfect fit for just a few of them. Finding a good fit between client, designers, contractors, architects, interior designers, and importantly budget is crucial to the success of not only the final project, but the experience for our clients through a potentially multi year process. What makes it even extra challenging is there’s just a limited amount of information to help our clients or potential clients make critical decisions as they go through the vetting process or beyond. Missing that mark only leads to frustration and more importantly, it leads to projects just not being executed well or at the level that our team absolutely strives for. Hi, I’m Kellan with Land Water Light where we help luxury homeowners achieve resort style living. In this video I will walk you through our exclusive starting guide step by step and highlighting the key points that will help shape our first introductory call, which you can find it the link at the bottom. This starting guide is the crucial document to help shape some of our early discussions and help manage expectations from the beginning. So let’s get started. African Safari Ranch Project You’ll see here we have a couple little intro paragraphs to explain a little bit of how we have developed our exclusive processes and how we have come to be able to create such amazing spaces. This project is one of our recently completed projects in which the client wanted an African safari type resort lodge in Wimberley, Texas. Everything was built around creating not only the look the experience of the space. You’ll notice at the bottom of these pages, we have some approximate costs of the project. Now this varies by time, availability, all sorts of different factors and details, but it will help get some ideas of expectations on not only time to build, but also the budgets themselves. You’ll see that the safari project has a full on lighting system. It’s an incredible place to be in and we will have updated photos and videos coming to this one soon. But again, the purpose of this document is really touched our understanding what is possible. This particular project has all sorts of wild animals, including Zebras and Kudu and Bongos all through the back part of this project which really helps create that field even despite not being in Africa, but being in Central Texas. This is actually phase two of this project. We have designed these amenity spaces, a new tent space areas to view pickleball and really expand upon the African safari type field this project was key to know is there. This space is designed for not only creating a soft comfortable field for the client and their family, but also a more expansive field for if they want to hold events or parties that that way it can not only be comfortable for ten people, but for 200. So that’s something to start thinking about. We do have approximate budgets in here, but you’ll get an idea of all that goes into developing these projects and really how we start to think about them.  English estate This project is one of our highlights. A client came to us wanting an English style estate in the middle of Central Texas. Despite the plants being different and it needing to be dog friendly. Our design team and construction team pulled out all stops to not only create a beautiful place for the client, but one that really transforms and transports you to feeling like you’re actually on a formal English estate this project took months to complete both on the construction and design side. But I will tell you it is an incredible place and is worthy of all the awards it is one sentence on the lighting end we did a full lighting package complete with animated light to mimic flicker flame as well as some interactive lighting where we actually use motion sensors to trigger it. This is a better than five star spacing anyone will be challenged to find a more comfortable place to be in relaxing after either a hard day of work or when you get back from your favorite travel destination. Terrace Terrace is an older project and an example of what you can do with a challenging lot. We ended up taking a dilapidated hillside that was full of construction debris build a hanging garden project out of it. It is an amazing space to be in and the scale is just incredible as you get there. Most importantly, we needed to really improve and create amazing views for the client out their master bedroom window which actually looks over this terraced hillside. This is a project that even today, 6-7 years later, it has stood the test of time and is still a beautiful place to experience and be a part of. This is the same project at night showing how we can expand and really make space not only incredible during the daytime, but allow the enjoyment to continue into the night hours, which just allows our customers and our clients to feel this space and experience it at a really deep level. Modern Modern is example of how do we have created a resort feeling exteriors place in a relatively small area. This project is on the top of a hillside and the client wanted a clean modern space that he could entertain in that looks over the beautiful vista beyond in the Texas Hill Country. We incorporated dramatic lighting, a ultra high end audio system that runs through these spaces as well as firepit to really create an amazing space for the client.
